I mainly got Henry DeTamble vibes (The Time Traveler's Wife), even though that time traveler's uncontrollable and involuntary ability physically ends up in a different era stark naked, Poor Guy.

Was Satoru born with such a useful yet uncontrollably supernatural, time-based ability like Henry was?

It seems he had lost it after the time-skip to 2010; the glowing bright blue butterfly appeared again after seven years so... maybe he can control it somewhat now?

It seems he didn’t have the resurrection ability when he was young, like around the Kayo kidnap time, but he loses it after that last resurrection’s story ended.

Ok, maybe I should have been a little more specific about this. For me, Erased felt like that chapter near the end of the 3rd Harry Potter book when Harry and Hermione traveled back in time to save Sirius.
