Hiromi Sugita is one of the three original victims of the serial kidnapping and killing committed by Gaku Yashiro. The other two victims being Kayo Hinazuki and Aya Nakanishi. He is Satoru Fujinuma's primary school classmate who has an androgynous appearance and an ally to him.

Personality

Hiromi is known to be good at the Othello and likes reading. He is cheerful and bright and is often mistaken for a girl because of his androgyny. Aya Nakanishi was shocked when she first learned that he was a boy.

History

Hiromi is one of Satoru Fujinuma's close friends. He was one of the three victims of the kidnapping cases. He was killed in order to lead the police into thinking that the suspect did not know that Hiromi was a boy.

Satoru suspected that in the past Hiromi drifted away from the group and became lonely and an easy target for kidnapping. When Satoru saved Kayo Hinazuki and Aya Nakanishi from the kidnapper, Hiromi too, was saved in turn.

As an adult, Hiromi became a physician and he married Kayo (which now makes her Kayo Sugita) where they have a son together named Mirai Sugita, who is said to have Hiromi's eyebrows.

After Satoru wakes up, he is first seen visiting him with Kenya Kobayashi.

Trivia

The name Hiromi means "wide" (広) (hiro) and "beautiful" (美) (mi).
Hiromi is a Final Fantasy fan.
